Estoy en España. Looks like they'll let just about anyone in Spain these days, because here I am! I arrived Saturday afternoon in the beautiful city of Sevilla. I'm not great with words so let me share with you some of pictures of taken thus far to show you how truly amazing this city is!

These are only a couple of pictures I've taken thus far, but can you imagine a more breathtakingly perfect city? I can't. Every moment I've not spent in class, eating my host mom's delicious food (her name is Maribel and I challenge you to finder a sweeter lady than her), or taking a siesta I've spent exploring the streets of Spain. There is just too much to see! On friday we took a tour of the Catedral de Santa María which is the largest gothic cathedral in the world. We even got to see someone famous while we were there! See if you can figure out who it is.

Catedral de Santa María

La Giralda
This tower is called La Giralda. It is the bell tower left over from Moorish rule in Spain that was used to call Muslims to prayer. We climbed around 30 floors to get to the top. My first couple pictures were taken from the top of La Giralda.
And now for the celebrity appearance. Drum Roll......

It's Christopher Columbus!!
This Cathedral is the final resting place of the great explorer. He was less than talkative, but I was happy to see him nonetheless.
There are many adventures and pictures yet to come. Until my next post...
¡hasta luego!
with love,
rachel
